Murph Tinsley  

James Murphy “Murph” Tinsley, 62, of Morgantown, died Saturday (Nov. 9) in a room overlooking Mountaineer Field, where he helped televise all but two home games in 36 consecutive seasons of West Virginia University football. Friends are invited to an informal, tailgate-style celebration of Murph’s life at 5 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 17) in the Gold ballroom of the WVU Mountainlair. Gold and blue attire is encouraged, and covered dishes to share are welcome.

The Mountaineer Hub is celebrating its fourth anniversary Friday (Nov. 15). The campus community is invited to stop by the second floor of Evansdale Crossing from 12:30- 2:30 p.m. to join in the “Hubiversary” celebration, which will include cake and balloons.

The Day of Giving, a 24-hour online fundraising effort today (Nov. 13) is a simple way for West Virginia University supporters to contribute to the institution.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to join a screening of a special documentary film “Breathe, Nolan, Breathe” and discussion panel today (Nov. 13), a day before the fifth anniversary of WVU student Nolan Burch’s tragic death. The screening and discussion will take place in the Gluck Theatre of the Mountainlair. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
