ENews submission guidelines

  • For an item to be considered for ENews, it must involve an official WVU unit, or have some other direct connection to the University and its related organizations or initiatives. While in some instances, ENews will include an event that is hosted at a WVU facility, just being held at WVU is not sufficient reason to be included. The final decision to include or not include an announcement in ENews is at the discretion of the editors.
  • Send items directly to enews@mail.wvu.edu. ENews is managed by a team, so contacting enews@mail.wvu.edu will ensure submissions and messages are viewed and addressed in a timely fashion. Items for ENews are intended for University faculty, staff and administrators. Announcements for students should be directed to mix@mail.wvu.edu. These submissions will be published on the WVU Students website.
  • Concise notices are best. Links to longer versions of a story or additional resources, including photos, are helpful. Please include a descriptive headline; date, time and place; brief description of event, award, etc.; contact; RSVP date, if applicable; and the specific date when the ENews notice should run. The ENews editorial team will determine which ENews posts are included in the ENews emails. While there are exceptions, posts typically won’t run more than once a week and not more than twice total.
  • Use our submission form to submit to ENews. The submission deadline is at least 48 hours ahead of the requested publication date.
  • Job openings are not included in E-News. Please direct this information to Talent and Culture at employment@mail.wvu.edu.
  • ENews does not accept solicitations or fundraising requests, except as in accordance with the University’s Concessions and Solicitation Policy.
  • ENews emails will be distributed once daily on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, except on University holidays. The email schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays during summer months. The companion website will be updated daily. If events require, such as in a campus emergency, announcements will be sent immediately.
