Presented in cooperation with Visit Mountaineer Country and Main Street Morgantown, the City of Morgantown will welcome the Great Race to the streets of downtown Morgantown from noon to 3 p.m. on Monday (June 24). The world’s premier old car rally will take place over multiple days with stops in selected cities on its way to the finish line, bringing more than 120 of the world’s finest antique automobiles to town.

The University community is invited to the WVU Core Arboretum Amphitheater for free Nature Connection Series talks at 6 p.m. on Tuesday evenings this summer. This week's speaker (June 18) is Jim Thompson, professor of soils and land use in the WVU Division of Plant and Soil Sciences, whose presentation is titled, “Restoring red spruce in Appalachia: Why and how soils are used to assess restoration potential and guide decision making.”
The Mountaineer Mascot Program will be holding a blood drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 24, at the Erickson Alumni Center, Nutting Gallery.

A trio of WVU Extension professionals with nearly 100 years of combined service to the University will retire on June 28. They are WVU Extension Associate Dean Cindy Fitch, Multimedia Specialist Greg Jacobs and Senior Office Administrator Robin Rupenthal.
