In honor of Black History Month, The WVU Planetarium will explore the Universe from the very near to the very far by highlighting the explorations, inventions, discoveries and research of Black astronauts, planetary scientists, solar physicists, astrophysicists and cosmologists Wednesday (Feb. 23) from 7-8 p.m.

The Muslim Student Association, in collaboration with the African Student Association, Black Student Union at WVU and WVU Collegiate Chapter of the NAACP, will host a viewing of “Blood Brothers” Wednesday (Feb. 23) from 7-9 p.m. in the Gluck Theatre of the Mountainlair.
The West Virginia Public Education Collaborative has extended the deadline to submit an event for Remake Learning Day in West Virginia to Feb. 28. WVU colleges, departments, units, student organizations, service centers and extracurricular groups on- and off- campus are invited to join this event slated from May 12-23 by hosting events on campus or in the local community.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of this disaster, WVU Libraries and the Department of History have created exhibitions online and in the Downtown Library’s Atrium that will be on display through December. In conjunction with the exhibits, a virtual screening of Buffalo Creek Flood: An Act of Man and Buffalo Creek Flood Revisited followed by a discussion with award-winning film director Mimi Pickering March 3 at 7 p.m.
The Black Student Union at West Virginia University will host its first Black History Month Convocation Sunday, Feb. 27, at 5 p.m. in the Gluck Theatre of the Mountainlair. This event aims to gather as a community to reflect upon, celebrate and exalt the Black presence in West Virginia, both historically and contemporarily.
WVU Career Services will host the Business and Communications Career and Internship Fair Feb. 23, and the Behavior and Social Sciences Career and Internship Fair Feb. 24. Both events are in the Mountainlair Ballrooms from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
