Upward Bound, a federally funded TRIO program at West Virginia University, is working to individualize the student experience and to support the University’s service mission by helping those at the high school level prepare for college. For the first time, the program is embedded at Preston High School in Kingwood this academic year.

Day of Giving Thank You  

Supporters of West Virginia University donated a record $18.1 million Wednesday (March 22) during the University’s sixth Day of Giving. More than 8,200 gifts were made during the 24-hour online fundraising event held across the University system, also a new record.

Beechurst Avenue  

The ​​state Division of Highways began a road-widening project this week along Beechurst Avenue, extending from Campus Drive to University Avenue. As part of the project, this area of Beechurst Avenue will be reduced to two-way traffic for the next several months. Work is expected to be completed in early August prior to the beginning of the fall semester.

A portion of parking lot ST-6 at the President’s House will be closed on Tuesday (March 28). The remainder of the lot will remain open. Normal parking lot access will resume Wednesday (March 29).
