Let’s Go! Introducing a refresh of the WVU Brand

We’re rolling out a refreshed brand identity, one that honors our traditions while positioning us boldly for the future.

The tagline “Mountaineers Go First,” introduced in a 2014 campaign, is out. Replacing it is a familiar rallying cry, often shouted at WVU sporting events which represents our collective Mountaineer mindset: “Let’s Go!”

This refresh is not a complete overhaul, but an evolution. It strengthens how we tell our story, visually and verbally, across campuses, units and platforms.

From updated colors and fonts to refined messaging strategy and tone to new murals and signage around campus, these enhancements will help us present WVU with greater clarity, consistency and confidence. 

Why now? Because the WVU mission, people and impact deserve a brand that reflects the energy and excellence happening across our University every day.

The WVU brand is now more accessible than ever, too.
