Renowned West Virginia novelist Ann Pancake leads the list of honorary degree recipients when West Virginia University sends more than 4,450 graduates into the world the weekend of May 11-13 as commencement ceremonies take place in three venues. Some events will also take place today (May 10).

WVU and the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties invite the public to the 14th annual Blue & Gold Mine Sale at the East Concourse of the Milan Puskar Stadium Saturday (May 12) from 7 a.m. to noon.
The West Virginia Community Choir will begin rehearsals May 14 for its abbreviated Summer Season. Rehearsals will take place at the Creative Arts Center each Monday evening at 7 p.m. (except for Memorial Day) and there will be additional rehearsals the weekend of the event at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on June 30 and July 1.
The West Virginia University College of Business and Economics, the Division of Talent and Culture and WVU Hospitals will join several other local businesses at the North Central West Virginia Job Fair and Career Workshop on Wednesday (May 9). The event will take place at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place.
The May Science on Tap talk is being given by Jim Rye, Professor Emeritus from the WVU College of Education and Human Services and Kristin Stansbury, 4th Grade Teacher at North Elementary School. The talk is titled "From GigaPan to Parthenocarpic Cucurbits: Enriching STEM Education through Garden-Based Learning for Elementary Students."
The United States Geological Survey and the West Virginia Geological & Economic Survey have teamed up with WVU to initiate the Appalachian Geoscience GeoCamp this summer.
