The WVU Biosafety Office with the University’s Environmental Health and Safety Department, in conjunction with the Association for Biosafety and Biosecurity, has announced October as ABSA International Biosafety and Biosecurity Month. The Biosafety Office will share information with the research community throughout the month.
The WVU Office of Human Research Protections will simplify processes for Not Human Subjects Research and for projects that don’t require IRB review beginning Dec. 9. Any new and pending NHSR protocol submissions should be submitted by Nov. 22 to allow for sufficient time for processing ahead of the transition date. WVU+kc will not accept NHSR protocol submissions after Dec. 9.
The West Virginia Local Science Engagement Network will host Mary Catherine Longshore, senior training manager for the American Association the Advancement of Science, for a webinar on the fundamentals of science communication and public engagement from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 9 on Zoom.
