FirstGen Initiatives invites the University community to help celebrate its FirstGen faculty, staff and students now through Friday (Nov. 8). The celebration kicks off today (Monday) in the Mountainlair to spread awareness about the support available for FirstGen students.

The Native American Studies Program will hold its annual ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 6) at the WVU Peace Tree, and Guest of Honor Kody Grant will present “Trading Jackets: Historical Perspectives to Modern Connections” at 5 p.m. in the Mountainlair, Gluck Theatre.
The Miftaah seminar will include a guest speaker, film screening and dinner from 5-8 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 9) at the Evansdale Residential Complex, Blue and Gold Ballroom.
West Virginia University celebrates its rich Appalachian roots each year with a week of activities that showcases music, food, and arts and crafts from the Appalachian region. Mountaineer Week, now in its 77th year, begins Monday (Nov. 11) and continues through Sunday, Nov. 17.
Faculty, staff, students and Morgantown community members are invited to join University Police for an open P.R.O.T.E.C.T. training to learn valuable self-defense techniques. The training will be held from 5-9 p.m. Monday (Nov. 11) in the Student Health Building, Room 101.
The Faculty Senate will meet at 3:15 p.m. Monday (Nov. 4) in the College of Law, Fitzsimmons Event Hall.
