The No. 10 men’s soccer team claimed the Sun Belt Championship title Sunday (Nov. 17), defeating No. 8 Marshall in penalty kicks. It is the first Sun Belt Championship title for the Mountaineers and follows the team's first regular-season title. It is also the first time WVU has won both the regular season and tournament titles in the same season as part of any conference in program history.
Athletics
The Saturday (Nov. 23) Big 12 Conference football game for WVU against UCF at Milan Puskar Stadium will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPNU. It will be Senior Day and the annual True Blue game. All fans are encouraged to wear blue.
Coach Darian DeVries earned his first Mountaineer basketball victory against Robert Morris earlier this month, and now he will get his first taste of the Backyard Brawl at 8 p.m. tonight (Nov. 15) in Pittsburgh. The game will be televised on ACC Extra and ESPN+.
The women’s basketball team is set to do battle with its second Power Four conference opponent this week, taking on Texas A&M at 7 p.m. tonight (Nov. 15) at the Coliseum.
The women’s soccer team will begin NCAA Tournament play in the First Round against No. 5-seed Kentucky at 7 p.m. today (Nov. 15) at Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex in Lexington, Kentucky. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
Volleyball coach Jen Greeny announced the addition of three students-athletes for the 2025 calendar year. Joining the Mountaineers are Anna Barr from Allen, Texas; Sarah Pfiffner from Frisco, Texas; and Abby Tucker from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
