Hundreds of people interested in applied sport science, strength and conditioning and long-term athlete development gathered at the International Coaching and Sport Science College Conference this past December at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee.

WVU Tech Adjunct Professor Brent Woodard was chosen as the first runner-up for Best Artist in the WV Living Magazine’s Best of West Virginia 2018 Awards. Woodard and his studio, The Rock Cries Out Studios, received votes from all over the state. He lives and teaches in Beckley.
The Mineral County STEM Network will host the 7th Annual Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Festival for area students and parents. The event will be held Saturday, March 30 from noon to 4 p.m. on the campus of West Virginia University Potomac State College in Keyser, W.Va.
Eberly Family Professor for Outstanding Public Service and faculty member in the Department of Public Service Chris Plein will play at the Concerts in the Loft series Sunday (Feb. 10) at the Wesley United Methodist Church on the Downtown campus. Plein is a very talented singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. A former member of Morgantown’s own Second Cousin and Almost Blue bands, he plays originals and covers in the Americana folk and rock tradition.
The College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences will host an online sports auction to benefit the 2019 fall senior scholarship. The event is sponsored by 2019 Dean’s Student Advisory Board members. The auction will feature numerous autographed items from athletic and professional sports teams. The online auction will begin Wednesday (Feb. 6) at 8 a.m. and close March 1 at 8 p.m. The event is open to the public.
