This Friday (Sept. 21), the Student Society of Landscape Architects will participate in PARK(ing) Day, a global movement to promote the importance of urban green spaces by encouraging students, designers and community members to transform metered parking spaces into temporary small parks, or parklets.

The Education Speaker Series is designed to help those connected to education better understand students and their communities. A panel presentation on understanding students and families dealing with addiction and recovery will be presented by Frankie Tack and Harrison County Resource Officer Jamie Hamrick Sept. 25 from 7 to 8 p.m. in room 703 Allen Hall.
Students and employees on the campus of WVU Potomac State College began the semester by donating their time and food as both groups partnered with two different organizations to combat hunger at the local and international levels.
David G. Zatezalo, assistant secretary of Mine Safety and Health, will speak on Thursday, September 20, as part of West Virginia University’s Department of Mining Engineering’s William N. Poundstone Lecture Series. The lecture, entitled “MSHA in Review and Forecast of Priorities,” will begin at 5 p.m., in Grand Hall A, of the Erickson Alumni Center.
In celebration of Healthcare Simulation Week 2018, West Virginia University School of Nursing on the Potomac State College campus will hold a Community Open House. The event will be held Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the newly opened nursing wing located in the J. Edward Kelley Complex, the former National Guard Armory.
