WVU is one of the institutions involved in an upcoming virtual summer school and mini-workshop series, Summer School in AI and Smart Health. Topics to be covered include machine learning, social network analysis and disinformation, deep learning and AI privacy and fairness.

Faculty, staff and students at West Virginia University are welcome at “Rock for Ukraine,” a benefit concert organized with the Ukrainian community of Morgantown that is scheduled for tonight (July 20) at 123 Pleasant Street.
The Office of Sustainability, the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design and the WVU Tree Campus USA committee are partnering to host WVU’s second annual lumber sale from 5-7 p.m. Friday (July 22) in the event tent outside the WVU Creative Arts Center, 1 Fine Arts Drive. The sale is cash only and all proceeds will support continued tree planting and maintenance on campus.
The Center for Fraternal Values and Leadership will host the 2022 Big 12 Fraternity and Sorority Advisors Conference beginning today (July 19) through Friday (July 22). Approximately 30 professional staff members from Big 12 institutions, including new members — Houston, Cincinnati and Central Florida — are expected to attend, as well as representatives from Pitt and Carnegie Mellon.
The monthly Staff Council meeting will be held Wednesday (July 20) at 8:15 a.m. in the Shenandoah Room of the Mountainlair and via Zoom.
WVU Extension Safety and Health Extension’s National Resource Center Occupational Safety and Health Training Institute Education Center will offer OSHA 3085: Principles of Scaffolding training August 17-19, in Morgantown, to provide construction workers with scaffold safety awareness and education.
