As part of our commitment to foster a safe environment for our campus community, the WVU Police Department will hold on-campus training exercises for its officers tomorrow (Aug. 9) and Wednesday (Aug. 10) at Arnold Hall and Apartments. These exercises will provide officers with continued active shooter training and critical education on crisis response.

WVU Talent and Culture partner, Care.com, is offering a free webinar “Parental Burnout: The Struggle is Real” tomorrow (Aug. 9). Letisha Bereola, a life and career coach who helps people find clarity, purpose and happiness in their work without burnout, will share tips and insights to help achieve balance in the midst of school, work and social life.
Teaching faculty who are new to using eCampus (Blackboard) are encouraged to register for a virtual training session with Information Technology Services offered Aug. 15-18. Sessions will be held on Zoom and registration is required. The eCampus 101 session will cover basic navigation, building course content, exploring course tools and a quick overview of Grade Center.
The return of FallFest highlights a packed Welcome Week at WVU which begins Thursday, Aug. 11, and continues through the start of the fall semester Aug. 17. New events include a pool party for all students at the Student Recreation Center Aug. 13 and a service project to benefit the West Virginia United Way Collaborative during Monday Night Lights for first-year students Aug. 15 at Milan Puskar Stadium.
Faculty, staff, students, alumni, retirees and their families are reminded to purchase their bus trip tickets for WVU Night at PNC Park as the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Cincinnati Reds Friday, Aug. 19. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. This convenient, hassle-free option includes a reserved game ticket, round-trip coach bus transportation from Morgantown to PNC Park and an official co-branded Pittsburgh/WVU water bottle, in addition to a pepperoni roll and bottled water.
WVU will celebrate pioneering work in organic farming during its Organic Field Day from 3-7 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 27) at the Organic Research, Education and Outreach Center. Organic Field Day helps illustrate the latest research in organic production methods through workshops, tours of research plots and hands-on activities.
