WV State Fair 2021

Whether you attended a 4-H camp or an athletic event or are a WVU grad, the gold and blue spirit can be felt in all corners of the Mountain State. WVU is celebrating those connections as part of the 2022 State Fair of West Virginia Aug. 11-20 in Fairlea. Visitors are invited to find their path to the University by visiting the WVU Extension and WVU exhibits.

moth night

Everyone is welcome to attend the much anticipated Moth Night 2022 at the WVU Core Arboretum tomorrow (Aug. 4) from 9-11 p.m. Sheets and lights will be set up in the Arboretum lawn area to attract moths and experts will be on hand to identify the moths.

evansdale library

WVU Libraries invites new faculty and their families to the New Faculty Reception Aug. 10 from 5-7 p.m. on the Evansdale Library’s second floor. We are excited to again welcome new faculty in person. Because we were not able to welcome new faculty last fall, we invite any faculty who have joined WVU since Fall 2021 to attend.

move in day

Meet our newest students and let them see how Mountaineers help each other by volunteering during residence hall move-in. Volunteers will receive service hours and an official Welcome Week t-shirt. No experience is required — just bring your smile and a willingness to carry boxes and belongings into these new residence hall homes for students.

Core Arboretum

The WVU community is invited to attend a Nature Connection Series talk at the Core Arboretum’s woodland amphitheater today (Aug. 2) at 6 p.m. This week's speaker is Samantha Moyers, doctoral candidate at the WVU School of Public Health. Her talk is titled “Spending Time in Nature for Human Health.”

Back To School Job Fair

The Back-to-School Job Fairs will be held as part of the Welcome Week activities and WVU Career Services is accepting registrations from WVU units that plan to hire student workers or Federal Work-Study students for fall positions. The two job fairs are scheduled for Monday (Aug. 15) and Tuesday (Aug. 16).
