The fifth and final session, “Academic Transformation: Intercollegiate Incubator and Semester Wrap-Up,” is scheduled for Thursday, May 12, at 11 a.m. This session will be virtual only.

Two WVU faculty members have been named as recipients of the University’s 2022-2023 Big 12 Faculty Fellowship Program. Kristen Dieffenbach, associate professor in the College of Physical Activities and Sport Sciences’ Department of Coaching and Teaching Studies. Daniel Grossman, associate professor in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics’ Department of Economics.
At West Virginia University, purpose is one of our foundational pillars and we are putting words into action by officially pursuing the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities’ Innovation and Economic Prosperity designation program to further refine and improve its economic engagement and purpose as a community partner.
Each spring, the WVU Office of the Provost, in partnership with the WVU Libraries, WVU Humanities Center and the WVU Press, hosts an annual celebration of long-form scholarship and creative work produced by WVU faculty. Participants are invited to showcase their work on the Provost’s Office website as part of the Long-Form Scholarship Virtual Showcase and at a private reception in the Wise Library Milano Reading Room.
Five new West Virginia University faculty members have been selected by the Office of the Provost following a rigorous application process as the recipients of the 2022-24 Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship Applied Faculty Fellowship, a multi-disciplinary initiative to bolster WVU’s culture of entrepreneurship and innovation. The IDEA Fellows will infuse entrepreneurial ideas in their coursework for the coming academic year. In addition, as a cohort, they will work to champion entrepreneurship and innovation across the University over the next two years.
The Office of the Provost reminds faculty and instructors that a number of our students will be celebrating the Islamic month of Ramadan through May 1. We encourage faculty and instructors to be as understanding and flexible as possible with their students during this observance, especially in accommodating requests for alternate examination times.
