Oliver Straw with the football team totaled four punts for 200 yards and averaged 50 yards per punt with a long of 57. This marks the first time in his career that he has averaged 50 yards per punt on multiple punts in a game.
Athletics
The Mountaineer Ticket Office has announced special ticket offers for upcoming men’s and women’s basketball home games as well as home wrestling matches at the Coliseum. These special, limited time offers will be available from Monday (Nov. 25) through to Friday, Dec. 6.
The cross country team claimed the national runner-up spot during the NCAA Championships Saturday (Nov. 23) at the Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wisconsin. Senior Ceili McCabe once again led the way for WVU in her final cross country race as a Mountaineer, claiming sixth place.
WVU became bowl eligible with a 31-21 victory over UCF Saturday (Nov. 23) at Milan Puskar Stadium.
The Mountaineers will close the regular season on the road at Texas Tech Saturday (Nov. 30). Game time is noon at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas. The game will be televised on FS1.
The men’s soccer team saw its season come to an end Sunday (Nov. 24) with a 2-1 loss to No. 11-seed Virginia at Klöckner Stadium in Charlottesville. The Mountaineers, the Sun Belt regular season and tournament champions, finish the season at 13-2-7.
