WVU’s Campus Campaign to support the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties launches today and runs through the month of October. While we all faced many challenges last year and continue to do so, WVU faculty, staff and retirees generously donated over $225,000 to the United Way.

As Ashley Eby navigated her freshman year in 2019, she received a surprise nomination to join the inaugural cohort of Presidential Student Ambassadors at WVU. The program helped Eby find her way – shifting her focus from law and public policy to medicine – through public speaking, leadership and service.
Adventure WV's First Year Trips student staff are trained to provide meaningful and fun experiences to incoming students, allowing their groups to develop strong friendships, adventure around the state and engage in relevant discussions about their transition to college.
Students may submit brief scholarly essays, short creative works, editorials, how-to manuals, engaging research reports, science blogs, or any other written text that focuses on Appalachia in some way.
Applications are open for the second annual Women Innovate Pitch Competition to be held virtually Oct. 20 from 5-7 p.m. on Zoom. The competition is open to all faculty, staff and students and other community members throughout West Virginia; however, teams must have a woman as the presenter.
The Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery recently turned 55 years old, celebrating decades of education and training for more than 100 program graduates, many who have stayed in West Virginia to practice through their careers.
