Some of the Mountain State’s most accomplished and talented students are set to begin their college careers at WVU as the new cohort of Bucklew Scholars. The Bucklew Scholarship is given to 20 high-achieving West Virginia students accepted to the University and qualifies them to be considered for the WVU Foundation Scholarship, the University’s highest academic scholarship.
Departments and offices on the Morgantown Campus recycled more than 10 tons of books and paper materials in mid-March as part of a periodic book recycling effort hosted by the Office of Sustainability — double the amount collected when this opportunity was last offered on campus.
All faculty or staff who are traveling internationally for a University-related purpose or taking University-owned equipment or personal equipment with University programs, including email, abroad on personal travel must register their travel. International students on F-1 and J-1 student visas are also reminded to request a travel signature at least one month prior to any travel outside of the United States.
“This Book Is Free and Yours to Keep: Notes from the Appalachian Prison Book Project,” which highlights the crucial work done by the Appalachian Prison Book Project and was published by the WVU Press, was recently selected by the Appalachian Studies Association for the 2024 Weatherford Award in Nonfiction.
