When Emily Corio was awarded the WVU IDEA Fellowship in early 2020, her plans centered around a course where students would work together on producing an in-depth podcast involving in-the-field reporting. This prestigious two-year fellowship is awarded to faculty who are innovative and entrepreneurial in the classroom, and after March 2020, Corio was forced to reimagine what that would mean for her students.
Haley Wahl, a fifth year Ph.D. student in Physics and Astronomy at WVU, has been awarded the American Astronomical Society Media Fellowship. The fellowship was developed in 2017 to provide a graduate student in the astronomical sciences a position for one year who has expressed a talent and interest in science communication.
