WVU Potomac State College will offer a mental health and addiction studies major starting this fall for individuals who are interested in a helping profession. Earning an associate of arts degree will allow graduates to either enter the workforce or pursue an advanced degree such as a bachelor of arts degree in mental health and addiction studies on the Morgantown campus.
Heather M. Stephens, associate professor of regional economics at the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design, along with Tony Pipa and Natalie Geismar, co-authored a new policy brief published by the Center for Sustainable Development at the Brookings Institution titled "Defining Distress: Lessons from the Federally Chartered Regional Commissions."
Due to popular demand, the Davis College Store will extend its Final Spring Plant Sale into the coming week. The storefront will open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday (June 16) and Friday (June 17) and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (June 18).
A ceremony to celebrate the life of Professor Dennis Allen, an award-winning and beloved teacher and mentor in the Department of English for more than 30 years, will be held Thursday (June 16) from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in E. Moore Hall. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. and the formal service will begin at 4 p.m.
