Faculty members are encouraged to remind undergraduates the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on March 1. Students will receive a $5,000 stipend to help pursue research and/or creative work within their discipline.

Researchers at West Virginia University have identified a set of diagnostic metabolic biomarkers that can help them develop artificial intelligence tools to detect Alzheimer’s disease in its early stages, as well as determine risk factors and treatment interventions.

Undergraduate Research  

With support from dedicated faculty and fellow students, Christopher Smith, a junior biomedical engineering major, has found his purpose in research, helping chart his life’s course. Smith is one of nearly 50 WVU students who will be participating in Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol Thursday (Feb. 22).
