WVU+kc updates to include new pre-approval step, post-award training requirement

University researchers will notice two important changes in the proposal module of WVU+kc (Kuali) following system updates occurring from 8-10 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 25).

All key personnel on federally sponsored proposals will be required to have an annual Foreign Partnerships in Research Disclosure on file as a pre-approval step. The Conflict of Interest Office will verify these disclosures have been completed before federally sponsored proposals are sent for departmental approval. For questions, contact COI@mail.wvu.edu.

In addition, mentor training is now required for all National Science Foundation proposals that include funding for postdoctoral researchers or graduate/undergraduate students. This is a post-award requirement, meaning you will need to develop and complete a mentor training plan only if your proposal is funded.

As soon as you know your project may be funded, contact Trisha Phillips, Office of Research Integrity, at Trisha.Phillips@mail.wvu.edu, for assistance in developing a mentor training plan.
