To accommodate annual enhancements, repairs and testing to the University’s steam infrastructure, the Facilities Management team is working with the steam provider for WVU on the following three planned steam outages:
- Evansdale — 6 a.m. Sunday (May 19) through 6 a.m. May 25
- Health Sciences — 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 23.
- Downtown — 6 a.m. May 25 through 6 a.m. June 9.
Evansdale Steam Outage (May 19-25)
All steam across the Evansdale area of campus will be shut down during the outage. Heating, domestic hot water and lab steam will be affected at the following campus buildings:

Downtown Steam Outage (May 25-June 9)
All steam across the Downtown area of campus will be shut down during the outage. Heating, domestic hot water and lab steam will be affected at the following campus buildings:

Air conditioning is not expected to be affected during the outages. However, the Facilities team will continually monitor temperatures in campus buildings and residence halls and make any necessary adjustments.
Researchers should consider delaying any new research projects that could be affected by these outages if at all possible.
These outages are designed to accommodate enhancements, repairs and testing to the University’s steam infrastructure. We appreciate your patience as we complete this critical work at a time that will have the least impact on our faculty, staff and students.
