Council for Gender Equity seeking new members

Council for Womens Concerns

The Council for Gender Equity, which works to promote the equality of womxn in the University and local community, is seeking applicants for both full members and affiliate members for 2023-24

Membership is composed of faculty, staff, students, as well as community members of all sexes and genders. All members meet monthly in addition to serving on at least one committee. 

Founded in 1977, the Council has upheld a presence throughout a sustaining commitment to the advancement of womxn of WVU. 

The WVU-sponsored body is invested in improving conditions of womxn and supports activities that highlight the concerns and accomplishments of womxn such as the Mary Catherine Buswell Award, the Womxn of Color Luncheon held during Diversity Week, the “Champagne for SANEs” and West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services. 

Applications will be accepted through March 31.
