Access to all Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace services now requires an active WVU Login account in the University’s new identity management system, Okta.
If you have not already done so, you will be prompted to activate your Okta account and create a new password before attempting to log in. Remember that if you are working remotely, you should first connect to the Virtual Private Network.
Between late July and Oct. 1, hundreds of additional WVU applications will begin to require an Okta account, including Adobe Creative Cloud on Sunday (Aug. 3). Please note that during this transition period, you may see either the old login screen or the new Okta interface when accessing a WVU application.
Everyone with an active WVU Login account should have received an email from Okta in both their primary WVU email account and at their personal recovery email address. If you don’t see the activation email in one account, check the other, along with your junk and spam folders. ITS and Okta started sending these instructions on June 1.
If you have deleted or cannot find the activation instructions, please contact the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444.
If you are a Shared User, meaning you have dual roles with WVU and WVU Medicine, the Okta activation email was sent to your primary WVU Medicine account. Follow the instructions in that email, then reset your WVUM password to resynchronize your WVU and WVUM passwords.
Review the WVU Login in the IT Help Center or these Frequently Asked Questions to learn more.
