Michael T. Benson, the 27th president of West Virginia University, never planned on trading beach breezes for the hills of Morgantown. But life — and leadership — has a way of pulling people toward places where they’re most needed. He has already begun to fully immerse himself in campus life, with plans to meet as many members of the WVU community and residents of the Mountain State as possible in his first few weeks on the job.
The current version of Self-Service Banner — accessed by clicking the STAR button on portal.wvu.edu — will be decommissioned on Sunday (July 20) and replaced with the new version SSB9. This update is the final step in the University’s transition to Banner 9.
University employees who have three or more years of state-qualifying service receive annual increment pay each year in July. The annual increment amount is $60 for each full year of qualifying service. WVU will issue the annual increment pay to qualifying University employees on Friday (July 18) and the payment will be electronically deposited into the employee’s primary bank account.
Beginning Aug. 1, MOUNTAINEER E-News will have a new design and will be known as ENews. In addition to the new design, we are also adjusting our email distribution schedule to Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
In order to provide students with an accurate picture of anticipated textbook costs for Fall 2025, faculty and instructors are reminded to identify their course materials no matter if they are re-adopting the same textbooks/materials they use for a course, making changes to their textbooks/materials or not requiring textbooks/materials.
