The National Society of Black Engineers chapter of the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources is observing its 40-year anniversary this month, an important milestone in the chapter’s history.

The 11th annual international competition and student film screening series will be held April 18-21 at the Canady Creative Arts Center, Mountainlair and Morgantown Art Party. The film screenings and exhibits are free and open to the public.
The inaugural showcase will celebrate student use of writing in all of its forms — textual, visual, aural and multimodal — to engage and support cultures and communities from noon to 2 p.m. April 24 in Colson Hall, Room 130.
Alumni, students and partners are invited to celebrate 55 years of the Public Administration Program during a network mixer and banquet beginning at 6 p.m. April 27 at Hotel Morgan. Attendees will enjoy dinner and sharing memories while key staff and alumni are highlighted.
Yu Gu, professor at the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, is the first professor to be named to the Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni Professorship. The position will elevate research and academic excellence.
Pedro Mago, the Glen H. Hiner Dean of the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, recently announced the 2023-24 winners that also included the Dean’s Fellow awards.
