Students, faculty members or researchers who are using or interested in some aspect of computer programming in research, interested in exchanging ideas with other scientists or interested in learning about other programming languages and applications are invited to the first WVU Hacky Hour.

The Teaching and Learning Commons is hosting a workshop titled “How do you know what they know? Meaningful checks for student understanding.” You can attend either on Feb. 20 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Shenandoah Room of the Mountainlair or on Feb. 21 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Room 234 of the Evansdale Library.
This presentation given by Neil Newfield from the School of Social Work and Susan Newfield from the School of Nursing will focus specifically on trafficking for sexual exploitation with particular attention on the region of Asia where the presenters have been consultants to the Pacific Links Foundation, an anti-trafficking organization in Vietnam.
To help young women get a head start in learning these important skills, FarmHer will host “Grow” on campus Feb. 22. The event will be held at the Erickson Alumni Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
