Workshop on ways to assess student understanding

The Teaching and Learning Commons is hosting a workshop titled “How do you know what they know? Meaningful checks for student understanding.” You can attend either on Feb. 20  from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Shenandoah Room of the Mountainlair or on Feb. 21 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Room 234 of the Evansdale Library.

Have you ever wondered whether your students are understanding the topics being discussed in your class? Ever graded tests and been surprised by what your students didn’t understand? If so, this workshop is for you. We will explore ways of assessing student understanding that you can implement easily in your classroom. These strategies will increase both your students’ engagement as well as your ability to address and reinforce course concepts.

Light refreshments will be served.

Presenter:

Lindsey Williams, Visiting Associate Professor of Music Education/Interim Assistant Director of Bands, School of Music
