Longtime Facilities and Services employee Kirk Martin is retiring after 44 years at WVU. A reception honoring Kirk is being held today (Sept. 4) at 3 p.m. in the Stewart Hall lobby. The University community is invited to attend.

The University will hold a bell-ringing ceremony, coordinated by the Office of Campus and Community Life and Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, on Friday (Aug. 31) in remembrance of students Christopher Stratton, Chase Peebles, Tonya Cesa, and Jonathan Lester.
Students learn better when they are engaged. But how do you engage students in large classes? In this webinar, Todd Hamrick, who is a Teaching Associate Professor of Engineering and has taught many large classes at WVU, will share strategies that have worked for him and are backed by research.
Periodic, purposeful change is a part of any improvement cycle. In this workshop, titled “Program Review: New Process, New Expectations,” Louis Slimak, director of Academic Excellence and Assessment, will discuss the latest revisions to WVU's program-review process. He will also explore the changes to requirements, the use of standardized data, the Qualtrics-based process, and institutional expectations.
Professor Dariusz Stola, Director of the Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jews, will deliver the 2018 Pi Lambda Phi lecture Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. in the large lecture hall of White Hall (Room G09).
