Extension Service is helping local farmers and agribusiness owners navigate new safety regulations and procedures while providing education and training to increase consumer safety from these foodborne illnesses. Teaming up with the West Virginia Department of Agriculture and West Virginia State University, WVU Extension Service is offering a series of Food Safety Modernization Act training sessions for fruit and vegetable growers, as well as others interested in learning about produce safety.

WVU’s Appalachian Prison Book Project is set to host a Walk for Justice Saturday (Sept. 15) at 10 a.m. The two-mile walk will begin at 10 a.m. at WVU’s Core Arboretum, proceed to the rail trail and conclude at Stansbury Hall.
Environmental Health and Safety offers a combined Laboratory Safety, Hazard Communication, and Hazardous Waste Training in the beginning of the spring and fall semesters. The next training is scheduled for Sept.19 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. in Room 3129, HSC North.
The movies are being made and the stage is being set. WVU Faculty and Staff will rate the WVU movie submissions this week and the Top 16 movies will screen at the Red-Carpet premier Friday (Sept. 14).
