The movies are being made and the stage is being set. WVU Faculty and Staff will rate the WVU movie submissions this week and the Top 16 movies will screen at the Red-Carpet premier  Friday (Sept. 14). Friends, family members, and fans are all invited to the reception (6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Mountaineer Room of the Mountainlair) and then to the premier (7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Ballrooms of the Mountainlair) to join our student filmmakers in celebrating a week of incredible accomplishments.

The Top Four films from WVU win the coveted Jury Award, which means they move on to compete on the national level at the Grand Finale in June. Jury Award winners will also receive a one-year subscription to both Adobe Creative Cloud and prime Student, the chance to apply for the CMF at Cannes Program, and the possibility of seeing their film on Prime Video. To celebrate the achievements of WVU's most outstanding filmmakers, Silver Tripod Awards will be given in specific categories, including, directing, editing, performance, and more.

Students can also compete in the Elfenworks Hope in Social Justice category, which highlights injustice and inspires change -- with the national winner taking home $10,000.
