The two-hour session will begin with an hour of exploration of keys topics related to learning theory, followed by an hour-long segment during which facilitators will guide participants in applying concepts to their own practice. Participants can attend both hours or come only to the first hour. The first hour will be webcast. Hosted by the Teaching and Learning Commons, this workshop will take place April 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 104 of the Downtown Library. Lunch will be served.

Every year, the WVU Foundation Outstanding Teaching Award recognizes faculty with “developing or established patterns of distinguished teaching and/or exceptional innovation in teaching methods, course and curriculum design, and instructional tools.” In this panel discussion, you will meet some of the 2018 winners and hear about their teaching strategies and benefits to their students.

William Ramsey, associate vice president and chief collaboration officer at the Health Sciences Center, will provide several unique insights into the current model of healthcare systems and will focus on collaboration strategies to improve incorporation of integrated behavioral health into rural community healthcare and wellness initiatives.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to share this information with students so they may join the Carruth Center for Psychological and Psychiatric Services tonight (March 26) in the Engineering Science Building, Room E207 from 7-8 p.m.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend an “Ask IT” forum at the Erickson Alumni Center from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday (March 26). Chief Information Officer Barb Dawson will give an update on technology projects with broad impact and will discuss coming initiatives.

Matheny has worked for WVU for more than 36 years, and all within the Division of Finance; she started out in the Business Office, and moved into Accounts Payable, spent some time in the Payroll and Travel Offices before spending the last 19 years, working with the Sponsored Research Accounting team. During the last two years of her employment, she has served as the back-up administrative assistant for the offices of the AVP of Finance.
