The WVU Women’s Resource Center is refocusing many of its efforts to empower more women at WVU and in West Virginia communities to promote and offer an open conversation on gender equity.
WVU Extension Service’s Energy Express, a six-week summer reading program hosted by Joel Brown, will be broadcast across West Virginia beginning Monday (June 29). The 30-minute episodes will air Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m. and feature engaging activities in literacy, STEM, art, cooking, nature, nutrition and more.
Richard Thomas, professor and chair in the Department of Biology at West Virginia University, has been named interim associate provost for graduate academic affairs, effective July 1, 2020. Thomas will replace Katherine Karraker who has served in the role beginning as interim since 2012 and will retire in August.

Christina Murray has been awarded the highly competitive U.S. Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship to study Persian this summer. She is the first West Virginia University student to win the award for the Persian language.
