Peter Harvey kicks off the 2020 Hardesty Festival of Ideas today (Oct. 7) at 7 p.m. Harvey will talk about creating a new relationship between communities and police departments: establishing mutual trust and shared responsibility for safer neighborhoods.

In commemoration of the Suffrage Centennial, the WVU Libraries’ Art in the Libraries Virtual Program will host Becky Cain Ceperley Oct. 9 from noon-1 p.m. Ceperley is the former National League of Women Voters president, and will talk about the effect of voter registration and turnout.
WVU Career Services Center will explore diversity in the workplace during an upcoming employer panel titled “Defining the Future of Diversity in the Workplace” on Oct. 14 from 4-5 p.m.
The WVU Retiree Association will join the American Red Cross to hold a blood drive Oct. 22 from 11:30 a.m to 5 p.m. in the Nutting Gallery of the WVU Erickson Alumni Center.
As part of National 4-H Week (Oct. 4-10), WVU Extension Service’s 4-H Youth Development program will be celebrating virtually with activities focused on this year’s National 4-H Week theme, “Opportunity 4 All.”
WVU’s annual Diversity Week will take place on-line this year as the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and campus partners offer a full slate of keynotes, panel discussions and events Oct. 11-16, including Festival of Ideas speaker W. Kamau Bell.
