The WVU Police Department presents another edition of its “Behind the Badge” series aimed at introducing the University community to the dedicated police officers, campus safety officers and dispatchers who keep WVU safe. Kelly is a campus safety officer who possesses a strong work ethic and brings unique experiences to his role.
WVU Research Communications Office writer Laura Jackson’s book “Deep and Wild: On Mountains, Opossums and Finding Your Way in West Virginia” has been named the Book of the Year by the Writers Conference of Northern Appalachia.
The financial gift from the West Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association to the Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will support travel and class supplies for students in the horticulture and plant sciences, and landscape architecture programs.
The collaboration with AESARA, a research and consulting company, will provide graduate students with hands-on training in this growing area while allowing them to consult with top worldwide pharmaceutical companies.
Melissa Ventura Marra, associate professor of human nutrition and foods, is part of a multistate research team awarded a $1 million grant from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture to support women’s health and well-being as they age.
