Assistant Professor Andrea Houde has released her first solo album for viola, featuring rare and never before recorded compositions. “The American Viola” is a collection of music from the late nineteenth century to today that encapsulates flowing lyricism to express the viola’s rich vocal character.

The Delaware Court of Chancery has cited WVU Law professor Joshua Weishart in an education rights case. In Delawarians for Educational Opportunity v. Carney, the court ruled that the state constitution “obligates the state of Delaware to create and maintain a system of public schools that successfully educates Delaware’s students.”
The College of Law is now home to the state’s Access to Justice Commission. Only two commissions in the country are administered by law schools.
Debangsu Bhattacharyya, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, has been named the GE Plastics Material Engineering Professor, effective Jan. 1.
After two phases of competition, 15 teams of college entrepreneurs have advanced to the finals of the 13th annual West Virginia Statewide Collegiate Business Plan Competition. The 15 finalists hail from five colleges and universities in West Virginia, as the teams try to capture a grand prize of $10,000 in each of three categories of competition hosted by the John Chambers College of Business and Economics.
