School of Pharmacy has approximately 10 times more funding from the National Institutes of Health today than it did just six years ago. This recently released information is from a research ranking report by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
Research
Clinical trials research develops safe and effective strategies to treat or prevent human disease and provide researchers with new ways to approach medical treatment that can improve or save the lives of patients. Historically, rural populations have been underrepresented in clinical trials, a disparity that WVU Medicine researchers are seeking to address.
Supported by a grant from the WVU Humanities Center, the research team used historical images from the West Virginia and Regional History Center’s online photographs database, West Virginia History OnView, to document the history of the Scott’s Run community in Monongalia County.
Parents with a ninth grader (either who just finished ninth grade or who will be entering ninth grade in August) are invited to participate in a research project this summer with WVU's Psychology Department. The project, WVU Teen Life Project, explores how teens define and pursue happiness, how their attitudes relate to behaviors and functioning, and how their parents’ attitudes and behaviors relate to their children’s.
