A livestock judging competition was recently held on the WVU Potomac State College campus. The event was sponsored by the College’s Agriculture and Forestry Club. Schools, 4-H and FFA Clubs participated from West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
The West Virginia Innocence Project recently helped overturn the conviction of a man who spent more than seven years in prison for a crime he did not commit. WVIP is a law clinic at the College of Law.
Chris Scheitle from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology will present on “Religion and Science: Perspectives of U.S. Adults and Science Graduate Students,” followed by a Q & A session June 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the Village at Heritage Point. His talk highlights his recent book, “Religion vs Science: What Religious People Really Think” (with Elaine Howard Ecklund; Oxford University Press), which is based on a national study of U.S. adults’ attitudes about religion, science and the relationship between the two. The Community Music Program announces a new “sampler” class for children ages six-to-10 years old. Beginning Group Violin for Kids is designed to give children their first exposure to the musical world of strings. This class advances youngsters on with their continued music explorations, beyond Early Childhood classes.
