Traveling from campus in Morgantown, eight women representing the School of Public Health made their way to Charleston in January for the annual Women’s and Girls’ Day at the West Virginia Legislature.

Avner Friedman is a professor in mathematics at Ohio State University. Join Friedman for this lecture March 20 at noon in 1901 Fukushima Auditorium, Health Sciences Campus.
Dr. Susheel Patil, assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, will give a lecture on "Obstructive Sleep Apnea: Approaching to Treatment Using A Physiologic Paradigm" at Medicine Grand Rounds on Friday (Feb. 28) at 8 a.m. in the Fukushima Auditorium.
The event takes place March 28 at the WVU Health Sciences Center. Students will get a day of hands-on ultrasound workshops taught by expert faculty and staff, training opportunities with live models and a team-based skills competition.
Lawrence O. Gostin,renowned academic in public health and law, will present "Legal Determinants of Global Public Health: Advancing the Right to Health" as part of the School of Public Health Dean's Colloquium Series from noon to 1 p.m. on March 27, in Fukushima Auditorium. Prior to his presentation there will be a "Meet and Greet" from 11-11:45 a.m., refreshments provided. All WVU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
A physician resident in the School of Public Health Occupational Medicine Residency program, Dr. Ryan Budwany participated in the full day of advocacy trainings and meetings with members of the West Virginia Senate and House of Delegates, including the Senate Health Committee meeting and House Health Committee meeting.
