The Second Annual Diversity Futsal Tournament, a 5 vs. 5 indoor soccer competition, is scheduled for Feb. 23-24 at the WVU Student Recreation Center. The tournament is limited to 16 teams and features group stage and knockouts format. Teams will have five playing members, consisting of four players and one goalkeeper on the court. Registration deadline is Feb. 18, 5 p.m.

Chamber Singers is the flagship choral ensemble of West Virginia University. The group will open for the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh concert Feb. 17 at 3:30 p.m. in the Creative Arts Center.
Kristin Brewster, curricular outreach program coordinator in the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, is the recipient of the National Academic Advising Association’s Region 3 Award for Excellence in Advising – New Advisor.
Professor James Thompson was recognized as the 2018 Educator of the Year (post-secondary) by the American Legion’s Department of West Virginia during its Mid-Winter Conference at Lakeview Resort in Morgantown Feb. 8. Department Commander Bill Combs presented the award to Thompson. American Legion Mountaineer Post 174 in Morgantown nominated Thompson for this award, and he was chosen as the award recipient by a selection committee at the state convention this past July.
