The WVU men's and women's swimming and diving teams officially open the 2021 season on Jan. 13 with a two-day dual meet against Pitt at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The WVU Center for Black Culture and Research presents author Deesha Philyaw as the keynote speaker for the MLK convocation slated for Jan. 14 at noon. Her book, “The Secret Lives of Church Ladies,” was published by the WVU Press and named a finalist in the 2020 National Book Award in Fiction.

Amelia Smith Rinehart  

An experienced academic leader and patent law expert has been selected as the next William J. Maier, Jr. Dean of the West Virginia University College of Law. Amelia Smith Rinehart’s appointment was announced today (Jan. 12) by Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Maryanne Reed. Rinehart currently serves as associate dean of academic affairs and professor at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. Her appointment will begin June 30.
