Members of the University community are encouraged to join the Faculty Senate meeting at 3:15 p.m. Monday (Aug. 7) for information on current affairs. The meeting will be dedicated to updates from University leadership on Academic Transformation and finances as well as questions from faculty senators.

The best of West Virginia University and WVU Extension will be on full display during the 2023 State Fair of West Virginia in Fairlea from Aug. 10-19.
Front Line Professionals will meet from noon-1 p.m. today (Aug. 3) in the Shenandoah Room of the Mountainlair. Dean of Students Corey Farris will give an overview of the student move-in process and Welcome Week, and George Yanchak, director of the WVU Hub, will provide an update on important financial aid and billing changes.
An event-packed Welcome Week at West Virginia University begins Thursday, Aug. 10, and continues into the start of the fall semester, Wednesday, Aug. 16, highlighting the many ways new and returning students can tap into their strengths, find their purpose and make a home on campus.
WVU departments and units that plan to hire student workers or Federal Work-Study students for fall positions are invited to participate in the Back-to-School Job Fairs hosted by WVU Career Services as part of Welcome Week on Aug. 15 and 23.
The visitors come from a wide array of backgrounds, including academia, social work, industry and business, and a major part of their experience is to live with community members and their families to introduce them to American culture and make them feel at home in West Virginia. Hosts are needed to house the participants for a four-week period between Aug. 21 and Oct. 27.
