On Sept. 24, the Bridge initiative for Science and Technology Policy, Leadership, and Communications hosted a virtual kick-off meeting for their new science and technology policy study on carbon dioxide removal. President Gee welcomed the group of more than two dozen faculty and staff members with expertise in CDR and related areas from Chambers, Davis, Eberly, and Statler Colleges, the Law School, the Energy Institute and the Extension Services.

Gold Blue Debut  

West Virginia University will tip off the 2021-22 men's basketball season with the Gold-Blue Debut, presented by new Coke Zero Sugar on Friday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum. Admission to the event is free with gates opening at 6 p.m.

This week has been designated College Football Mental Health Awareness Week and the Big 12 Conference and West Virginia University athletics are planning a number of social media posts to help increase awareness, according to Adrian Ferrera, athletics' director of clinical and sport psychology.

The WVU Varsity Club is planning a 10-year reunion for WVU's outstanding 2011 football team that defeated 14th-ranked Clemson 70-22 in the 2012 Discover Orange Bowl at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The reunion will take place the weekend of the Texas game, according to Varsity Club Director Dale Wolfley.
