Kandzari Memorial Lectureship, Lisa Kirk Wiese presented “Creating a Culture of Caring for Older Adults in Rural Settings” in the WVU Health Sciences’ Okey Patteson Auditorium April 28. Student awardees were also recognized, along with new inductees of the Sigma Theta Tau — Alpha Rho Chapter.
Heather Carter-Templeton, chair of the School of Nursing Department of Adult Health, has been selected through a competitive application process for the National League for Nursing’s year-long LEAD program, one of two tracks in the NLN Leadership Institute, an initiative of the NLN Center for Transformational Leadership.

Bethany Barone Gibbs has been named chair of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the WVU School of Public Health. Previously a faculty member in the Department of Health and Human Development at the University of Pittsburgh, Gibbs has spent more than a decade studying the prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic disease through healthy lifestyle behaviors.
