Kerri Knotts, vice president of Commercial Spaceflight for Barrios Technology and a 1994 graduate of WVU, will be the speaker for the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources commencement ceremony Saturday, May 14, at 4 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum.

The WVU Community Music Program seven-week summer term will be held May 16-June 30. This program is open to beginners, amateurs and performers of all ages and levels who wish to enhance their daily lives with arts, learn how to play an instrument, further hone their skills, explore new creative territories or perform with others who share the same passion.

Walter DeKeseredy  

Walter DeKeseredy, director of the WVU Research Center on Violence and professor of sociology, has been named as an ASC Fellow by the Executive Board of American Society of Criminology, the highest honor bestowed by the society for outstanding contributions in the field of criminology.

Jasir Cox  

West Virginia University football coach Neal Brown has announced that Jasir Cox, a 6-foot-1, 209-pound, fifth-year senior from Kansas City, Missouri, has signed a grant-in-aid and will transfer to WVU from North Dakota State. He will play on the defensive side of the ball.

The West Virginia University baseball team continues its five-game homestand with a Big 12 Conference series against No. 18 Texas, presented by Humana, from May 6-8, at Wagener Field at Monongalia County Ballpark.
