The Teaching and Learning Commons’ annual Celebrate event returns online Wednesday, May 11, with the theme “Student Success: It’s Not Just One Thing!” Intended for all instructors, this event is designed to showcase teaching, learning, and research efforts and accomplishments.
Next week, the Office of the Provost will round out its monthly Campus Conversations focused on academic transformation initiatives. The fifth and final session, “Academic Transformation: Intercollegiate Incubator and Semester Wrap-Up,” is scheduled for Thursday, May 12, at 11 a.m. This session will be virtual only.
An internationally known expert in educational leadership and interdisciplinary transformations will join WVU to lead the institution’s newest academic unit. Autumn Tooms Cyprès, currently the associate provost for lifelong learning at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, has been named founding dean of the new College of Applied Human Sciences, the Office of the Provost announced Thursday (May 5). Her appointment will be effective June 30, 2022. Cyprès will also hold a faculty position in the College’s School of Education.
