Eight remarkable members of the West Virginia University Class of 2025 who have distinguished themselves through academic excellence and by making significant contributions on campus, across the Mountain State and beyond have been honored with the Order of Augusta, the most prestigious University student award.

The Center for Excellence in Disabilities is announcing three new mini-grant opportunities to support innovative projects focused on individual and family experiences with substance use — particularly for families with children ages 0-5 — to drive meaningful change in our communities.
Seven members of the WVU Soils Team were among the 199 participants from 27 schools across the country who recently gathered for the National Collegiate Soils Contest in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The team again performed well in the contest finishing 8th overall, while JosiLee Scott claimed first place — beating out 105 participants in the individual judging portion of the contest.
As the University prepares for a new era under the leadership of incoming President Michael T. Benson, the internal news and information source currently known as MOUNTAINEER E-News will be updated to more effectively serve faculty and staff. Changes will be implemented during the summer months.
To accommodate annual enhancements, repairs and testing to the University’s steam infrastructure, the Facilities Management team is working with the WVU steam provider on three planned steam outages.
