Canyon Lohnas  

Canyon Lohnas, a doctoral student and program specialist for the West Virginia Public Education Collaborative, has been recognized by the International Literacy Association as an emerging leader who is transforming literacy education and promoting equity in classrooms, communities and beyond.

Life Sciences Building  

William Fremouw and his wife, Ann, provided the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences with a $50,000 gift to endow an annual award for doctoral students in clinical psychology who have proposed an outstanding master’s thesis and have participated in departmental services.

Potomac State Gift  

The Wallace Brothers WVU PSC Athletic Staff Support Fund, created with a $25,000 gift from WVU Potomac State College President Jerry Wallace and his wife, Allyson, will assist sports teams with travel, special projects, tournaments and equipment.

Mannon Gallegly  

Gallegly, who dedicated his life’s work to improving the tomato crop for generations of farmers and growers, died at the age of 101 following a career that spanned more than 80 years as an expert in plant and soil sciences. A memorial service for Gallegly will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 18) at Wesley United Methodist Church.
